The Children's Garden Staff,

Thank you so much for a wonderful year! Words cannot express our gratitude. We never once questioned that our kids were in great hands. Trenton and Madisyn are really going to miss it here with all of their friends and wonderful teachers. The Children's Garden will always be a part of their lives. We will never forget you!

The Lechene's

Hello,
It has been 11 years since my daughter, Kendyl Swank, has attended Children's Garden.  But I can't tell you how many times my husband and I have complimented the "early beginnings" of her education.  The full day kindergarten was a blessing.  We didn't have to coordinate before and after school care with buses taking her from one place to another - all for 2 and a half hours of school.

The Children's Garden staff were so kind and accommodating.  To this day, we still have memories of how Lisa Coy was so interested in Kendyl making friends,  she offered for Kendyl to start Kindergarten a few days early. This allowed her to attend the last few days of the summer program and get to know some of the children while doing the fun things like bowling and mini golf.  We also remember Miss Rizzo who gave Kendyl quarters to eat chocolate covered bugs at the Whitaker Center field trip.  Our little girl stepped out of her comfort zone for a teacher she admired.  And then there was Patricia Goodhart who not only taught her to read the first 100 words, but was instrumental in Kendyl's admittance to Cumberland Valley's First Grade Program.  Kendyl was too young for CV's guidelines, but with your advanced curriculum, Kendyl was prepared for First Grade when she was still only 5 years old.  Mrs Goodhart went out of her way to contact the school and make her recommendation along with a copy of The Children's Garden curriculum.  We have never regretted sending her to school early, even though she was nearly a year younger than most of her classmates.  She has always carried a GPA in the 90s.  She is ready to finish her junior year at CV and is in the top 15 percent of her class of 567 students.

The biggest thing we admired about the teachers of the 2005 Kindergarten graduation class was that they saw something in Kendyl that we had not yet seen.  They presented her with the "World Ambassador" award at graduation.  We chuckled at the time, but it was not long afterward that we started to realize what they saw in her.  I can't tell you how many times we've looked at each other and said, "World Ambassador".  Kendyl was just selected as one of three students to lead the CV Mini Thon events for 2018.  She is thrilled and will make a great embassador for the Blue Diamonds organization and the Thon events.

We know that too often people are quick to share their criticisms, but slow to show appreciation.  I wanted to thank Children's Garden and the teachers for their great care and interest in the education and growth of the children who come through their classes.  And 11 years later, I am thrilled to see that Pat Goodhart and Lisa Coy are still with you.  They are really making a difference in the lives of the children and I do hope you you will share this with them.

Sincerely,

Denise and Gary Swank

"To the  best infant room teachers EVER!!! I can't ever repay you for the love and care you have provided to Alexis. I look back to the first day I had to drop her off and petrified doesn't even begin to describe how I was feeling. How could I ever leave my sweet little baby all day long and with "strangers?" Very quickly my nerves were calmed because I knew my baby was in great hands. The infant room is such a warm and loving environment which is felt as soon as you walk in the room. The love you have for the babies is incredible. The care  you provide for them is outstanding! We really lucked out finding such a great daycare, but more importantly, finding teachers who really care for the children as their own. I never thought I would find that but the proof is shown in Alexis's development, mood, and the fact that some days she's rather stay with Boo than go with her mommy. I must admit, at first this saddened me, but I quickly learned how grateful I am that she loves her teachers so much. I hope you know how valuable each of you are. I will forever be grateful for everything you have done for our family. You have given my baby a great start and that is priceless. Thank you for always going above and beyond. I hope to have another baby in the infant room in the future. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

We would like to thank all of you so very much, it has been our pleasure over the past 6 years to get to know all of  you as we came through the classrooms with both boys. They always say the first day of Kindergarten is hard however I think this is much  more difficult. From the first time we entered the Children's Garden we knew that you were the one's that we wanted to teach and guide our children. My Grandmother always told me that children may not remember everything at all times, however they will know that they are loved. You loved our children like your own, for that there are no words to convey our gratitude. some of you I got to spent lots of time with, others were the warm smiling faces in the hallway, a constant reminder that both our boys would be safe and secure during the day. Your commitment to Christ and your enthusiasm lives on in each child that passes through these doors. Proverbs 22:6- "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

"Selecting a day care was challenging for my husband and I, because it is never easy to leave your children in the care of someone else. With the Children's Garden, we found a place where I know my kids are happy, safe, and loved. The teachers go the extra mile and you can see that in every room from the projects on the walls to the little smiling faces greeting you when you walk in. The feeling of comfort that I have when I leave my children in their care cannot be measured in words and my kids love it. They are fantastic people!

"When it came time for us to need childcare there was no choice. The only place we would take our children was the Children's Garden. I had been on staff at St. John's for almost 8 years and got to see the love, devotion, and care the teachers had for the children. I watched children grow and flourish in the creative surroundings and knew this would be the only place I could feel safe, comfortable, and confident with the nurture of my children. And they deliver that and so much more every day!

"Our family has been part of The Children's Garden family for the last seven years. Our two children have grown socially and academically through the care and guidance of the wonderful teachers and administrative staff. The 'school' provides many opportunities through their fantastic programs including preschool, kindergarten, and summer school aged programs. Our children came to The Children's Garden as infants, and we have always felt fortunate that we selected The Children's Garden to care for our children when we could not be with them.

"We have sent both of our children to The Children's Garden. The Staff is dedicated and committed to the children's educational and social development. All of our children's teachers have gone above and beyond when teaching a typical lesson, ie. bring in props and hands-on activities which our children thoroughly enjoy. If they offered a 1st-8th grade program we would be some of the first to register!

"After 4 children, and 11 years at The Children's Garden we are still as pleased as ever. We have never thought of The Children's Garden as just a day care. The emotional, social, and academic growth we have seen in our children is amazing - and it all happens in a warm, loving environment. We are lucky to have stumbled upon it.
